MAD MINUTE DECENDED ON PORT ELLIOT PRIMARY SCHOOL

On Wednesday the 26th June a certain type of madness occurred at Port Elliot primary School. Joined by Victor Harbor Primary  School, Encounter Lutheran and Investigator College.

When students from each school came together for the final round of the Lions Mad Minute.

This is open to year 5/6 students having fun learning to be engaging, confident and creative speakers.

The event was opened by Victor Harbor Mayor Moria Jenkins, also attended by the Fleurieu Sun and Victor Harbor Times Newspapers.

This public speaking event requires students to choose a card unseen, and hand this to the teacher who then gave the subject topic which the student had to talk about for 1 minute.

Judges had 4 criteria to mark on which ended being a tough decision, as the young speakers were very good when they spoke on their topic.

However there can only be one overall  winner and one was found after much debate, Ester Johnson from Encounter Lutheran.

A further group of students won awards for Best Opening, Best Close, Most Informative, Best Gestures and Most Humorous.

All the teachers, judges and students were unanimous that the Lions Mad Minute should be help again next year.
